Questions
Questions people ask
Which Kalekim adhesive do I need, 1951 or 1952?
Use Kalekim 1951 for ceramic wall and floor tiles. Use Kalekim 1952 for porcelain, which absorbs less water and needs a stronger bond. If you are not sure what your tile is, send us a photo of the box on WhatsApp.
How many square metres does a 25 kg bag of tile adhesive cover?
Kalekim gives 3 to 5 kg per square metre for its standard tile adhesives, so a 25 kg bag covers roughly 5 to 8 m². Small tiles on a flat surface use the least. Large tiles, uneven walls and back-buttering use more.
How is the grout worked out?
Grout fills the joints, so it depends on the tile size, the tile thickness and the joint width. The calculator uses the standard joint-volume formula: (length + width) ÷ (length × width) × joint width × tile thickness × 1.6, with sizes in millimetres, giving kg per m². Kalekim 2000 Fuga suits joints from 1 to 6 mm.
Why is my real usage different?
Trowel angle, wall straightness and how much is mixed and wasted all change the result. Use this to plan and budget, then confirm with us before a large order.
